The Payconiq by Bancontact app now available in other European app stores
Are you a Belgian living abroad or an expat living in Belgium with a Belgian bank account? Good news because as of today, you can also find the Payconiq by Bancontact app in the app stores of other European countries, thereby making fast and secure mobile payments available to even more users! The only prerequisite to use the app is that you have a Bancontact card.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve the app, whether it's enhancing user-friendliness, adding additional services to simplify payments, or enabling easy group payments. In this process, we also include user feedback.
"We often receive inquiries from Belgians living abroad who want to download the Payconiq by Bancontact app. They want to be able to quickly reimburse their family or friends through the app," said Evert Pattyn, Head of Customer Care.
Until recently, the Payconiq by Bancontact app was only available in the Belgian app stores. This meant that Belgians residing abroad or foreigners in Belgium couldn't find the app in non-Belgian app stores. Now, that’s no longer the case.
The Payconiq by Bancontact app is available in the stores of other European countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
This expansion makes the payment app accessible to even more users with a Bancontact card and a Belgian bank account. They can now easily reimburse friends or make payments when they encounter a Bancontact or Payconiq QR code during their online purchases or in-store.
