Receive and pay your invoices directly in the Payconiq by Bancontact app
Context
The Payconiq by Bancontact app enables users to make secure mobile payments across the widest possible range of payment situations: in physical stores, online, in restaurants, in sports club at the doctor, at festivals, etc. The app also makes it possible to split the bill with friends, make donations to good causes and pay invoices. Users can even add their meal vouchers to the app, so they can pay mobile with it.
In 2022, Belgians paid with their smartphone nearly 275 million times using the Payconiq by Bancontact app or with a bank app offering the Bancontact and/or Payconiq payment methods.
We are constantly looking for improvements and to bring the most value for our consumers and merchants, tailored to each payment situation. To further ease the flow for paying invoices, we now launch a new feature in the Payconiq by Bancontact app together with POM: the possibility to receive and pay invoices directly in the Payconiq by Bancontact app.
Users of the Payconiq by Bancontact app will be able to receive and pay their payment documents in the app. This will allow them to make secure mobile payments.
This feature will be available for companies that work together with POM. Only invoices from POM billers will be available in the Payconiq by Bancontact app.
The feature will launch in the app as from Q3 2023.

Thanks to this new feature, consumers will have one place to receive and pay their invoices. Within the Payconiq by Bancontact app, they will see an overview of their documents, and they will be able to make the payments very easily, directly in the app.
This new feature enables both users and merchants to pay and receive their invoices even faster and in a correct and safe way:
- Users will be able to pay fast and easy, without making any mistakes in the transfer. They will only need to confirm the invoice via their app.
- It will help merchants to get paid even faster and to avoid mistakes in handling their invoices.
The Payconiq by Bancontact app is the preferred mobile payments app for Belgians. It’s a trusted and safe local payment solution. Consumers will get a notification via the app that a new payment document is available in their app. They won’t need to click anymore on links via message or mails, but will be able to handle all their invoices directly through the app.
