What is the Payconiq by Bancontact app?
With the Payconiq by Bancontact app, you can make mobile payments anywhere you see a Bancontact or Payconiq QR code. You add your Bancontact card and bank account to the app and then you can easily pay with your smartphone.
It is also possible to link Pluxee Lunch to the app. That way, you can always easily pay with your meal vouchers on your mobile. Easy!
Moreover, with the Payconiq by Bancontact app, you pay for your entire purchase in one scan. Whether you have enough balance on your Pluxee card or not, you pay with both your meal vouchers and Payconiq in one go. Gone are the days of two separate payments!
How to add my Pluxee Lunch to the app?
You can do this in two ways:
- Go to Services from the app's home screen, tap 'Meal vouchers’ and follow the instructions to add your Pluxee card.
- Or go to the Menu in the top left corner of the app, tap 'Payment methods' and follow the instructions to add your Pluxee card.
Don't forget to link your bank account to the Payconiq by Bancontact app before adding your Pluxee meal vouchers. This is already possible with almost all Belgian banks. Check here for which banks this is possible today.
How to pay mobile with Pluxee Lunch and Payconiq?
Scan the Payconiq QR code at your merchant. If it allows payments with Pluxee via Payconiq, a meal voucher payment is automatically suggested.
Confirm or enter the amount you need to pay.
You get a practical overview of your available Pluxee Lunch balance and how you can pay for your purchase:
Do you have sufficient balance to pay for your purchase in full with your meal vouchers? Then you can pay for your entire purchase with your vouchers.
Can't pay your purchase in full with your meal vouchers? Then the remaining amount will be paid via Payconiq using your linked bank account.
Tip: Choose whether to pay with your meal vouchers. To do so, tick or untick the meal vouchers feature in the payment overview.
Confirm your payment. And there you go; you’ve paid with both your Pluxee Lunch and Payconiq in one single scan.
At which merchants can I pay mobile with my Pluxee Lunch?
This ‘combined’ payment is initially available at smaller retailers such as bakeries or lunch bars, which accept Pluxee Lunch through Payconiq.
At large retailers such as supermarkets, it is currently not yet possible to pay with meal vouchers via Payconiq.
