My VAT number has changed. Why am I being charged an operating fee again?
The increasingly stringent regulations create additional costs for our company in the onboarding process, administration, and management of a merchant account. Therefore, starting from 2024, we have introduced a fixed operating fee of €18 per year.
This operating fee of €18 is per year and per merchant account (Merchant ID). Each merchant account is linked to a VAT number, and therefore each VAT number in our company is considered a separate legal entity.
When a VAT number is adjusted or replaced, our system considers this as a new merchant, and the annual operating fee of €18 is charged again. Even if you only change your VAT number and nothing else changes for you, we need to create a new merchant account, which involves various necessary administrative checks and data processing. It is precisely for this administration and the management of your merchant account that the operating fee was introduced. Therefore, we charge a new operating fee for any change of VAT number.
